An historic seafront hotel in Burnham-On-Sea has gone on sale with a guide price of £750,000.
The Royal Clarence at 31, The Esplanade is being sold due to the ill health of its current owners.
The property was Burnham’s first hotel and is believed to have been built in 1796. It is one of Burnham’s oldest seafront buildings and was run for many years by Cllr Dennis Davey, a local councillor. It was also the birthplace of RCH Brewery, which is now based in Hewish.
The hotel has 15 en-suite bedrooms and, according to the estate agents Greenslade Taylor Hunt, has a yearly turnover of £253,784 excluding VAT. The hotel has a local authority five star award for catering and a Visit Britain three star award.
