Burnham’s Olympic BMX cyclist Liam Phillips returns to his old school

-

Burnham-On-Sea BMX racer Liam Phillips, who competed in the London 2012 Olympics, was given a hero’s welcome when he returned to his old school this week.

Liam visited King Alfred School on Thursday (September 20th) where he signed autographs, posed for pictures and answered questions from students.

“One of the main themes of London 2012 was legacy and who knows how many future Olympians from King Alfred School will be inspired to follow Liam’s example and represent Team GB,” Headteacher Andrew Owen told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Liam reached the BMX final following superb performances in the qualification rounds, but sadly crashed out in the final race, ending his medal hopes, as we covered here.
