Families looking for something fun and educational this half‑term are being invited to Berrow Dunes Local Nature Reserve for a hands‑on Bug Bonanza on Tuesday 26th May, running from 1.30pm to 3pm.
The event is designed for children aged 3–10 and offers an afternoon of outdoor exploration. Tickets are £6 per child, with cash only accepted on the day, and organisers stress that booking is essential.
Youngsters will join the Discover Wild team to try sweep‑netting in the grassland and pond dipping, searching for as many different minibeasts as they can find.
After examining their discoveries, children will get creative by crafting their own creepy‑crawlies using clay and natural materials gathered from around the reserve.
Berrow Dunes, known for its rich wildlife and unique habitats, provides the perfect setting for curious young explorers to learn more about the natural world.
To secure a place, parents can email discoverwild@somerset.gov.uk.
