A woman has died following a crash on the M5, police have said.
Officers were called to a single vehicle crash involving a blue BMW on the southbound stretch of the motorway between junction 24 for Bridgwater and junction 25 for Taunton at about 2.15am on Sunday.
Avon and Somerset Police said the woman, in her 20s, was taken to hospital where where she sadly died from her injuries.
Her family have been informed and are being supported by officers, said the force.
The M5 was closed while investigations were carried out with long delays to motorists stretching back to Burnham-On-Sea.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to contact the police.
