ANTI-social behaviour in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge has dropped by over a third during the past two years, police have announced this week. From 2008-2009 there was a recorded drop in anti-social behaviour calls of 8.29 per cent and a further drop of 31.88 per cent from 2009–2010.

CALM weather led to the UK's National Sand Yachting Championships being cancelled on Brean Beach this weekend. The two-day event began on Saturday morning and although the light winds initially allowed two races to be completed during the early part of the day, as pictured.

HIGHBRIDGE'S King Alfred School has introduced new sports bursaries for their outstanding 16 sportsmen and women. The annual bursary of £250 is being awarded to all sporty sixth form students who compete at county, national or international level, the school has announced.

CHILDREN at Berrow's Primary and Berrow Pre-School have been celebrating Diwali over the past week. The pupils took part in a week-long celebration of Diwali, which ended with a party. The children all made and decorated divas, which they then lit at the special party.

Hillview gets double boost
BURNHAM-On-Sea's Hillview Carnival Club had a double dose of good news on Monday (November 8th) after winning second place at their home town's carnival and learning their placing at Bridgwater Carnival had changed from third to second - providing them with a double boost.
