A MAN who Burnham police believe is responsible for two burglaries in the area has been arrested following a tip-off by a suspicious local resident. Peter Davies Smith from Highbridge was arrested on Thursday (May 13th) for an attempted burglary in Burnham-On-Sea and another in Highbridge.

PREPARATIONS for the launch of a temporary radio station in Highbridge have continued this week with the recording of several programmes and jingles. It comes after Ofcom, the UK's radio regulator, formally accepted the station's application and gave it approval.

THE M5 motorway at Burnham-On-Sea was closed for over an hour on Friday afternoon (May 7th) after a three-vehicle accident. Fire, police and ambulance crews rushed to the southbound carriageway between junctions 22 at Burnham and 23 at Highbridge at 2.45pm.
