Burnham-On-Sea MP backs teenagers’ petition for better water supplies

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s MP David Heathcoat-Amory has signed a petition organised by two youngsters calling for better water supplies in the third world.

Freya Cottrell and Sophie Patten from Mark Church Youth Group met the MP in Highbridge on Saturday, as pictured here, where he added his signature.

Freya and Sophie, who are both 15, have organised the petition in conjunction with Tearfund, a relief and development charity that works in partnership with Christian agencies and churches throughout the world to eradicate the causes and effects of poverty and disease.

The MP told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I was delighted to receive the petition from the two charming young girls from my constituency, who are backing an excellent cause in preventing unnecessary deaths from polluted water. I have sent them some information about Conservative plans to fight the causes of poverty and disease.”
