Armed Forces Day to be marked in Burnham and Highbridge

Two ceremonies to mark Armed Forces Day will be held in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge today (Saturday, June 23rd).

Mayor Ken Smout will lead a flag-raising ceremony outside Highbridge Community Hall at 9am on Saturday morning.

This will be followed at 9.30am when the Mayor will attend Burnham’s ceremony besides the flag pole and water fountain at the junction of the High Street and Marine Drive.

Residents will be very welcome to join in the cermonies, which will also be attended by representatives from local cadet units, the Royal British Legion and RAFA are expected to attend, alongside members of the Chamber of Trade.
