Entries open for Burnham-On-Sea Talent Showcase competition

-

Entries have opened for Burnham-On-Sea’s third ‘Talent Showcase’ competition.

The Princess Theatre will host the annual event on Saturday June 10th when local musicians will perform in front of a team of judges.

There will be a number of prizes up for grabs, with a chance to sing at local festivals from Farmfest to the Balloon Fiesta and other future events in Burnham-On-Sea.

This year, there’s a chance to perform at Burnham-On-Sea’s brand new BOSfest. There’s also a professional photo shoot on offer for the winner/s.

“The majority of the acts in the last couple of years came away with something,” organiser Lewis Coleman told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “They were recognised for their talents and asked to play at an event or festival.”

The contest will once again be judged by people in the industry, festival organisers and a record producer.

“Mike Murphy will be returning as compere,” Lewis added, “and he usually recruits people to play at local events, like Party in the Park.”

The Showcase is held in aid of local charity Somewhere House Somerset. “This event has increased the profile of the charity as well as raising money,” Angie Clarke, charity director said, “which has meant more people have been able to access help from us.”

“We are looking for singers, duos, guitarists. It’s not a battle of the bands, but we have places allocated for bands.”

It’s £10 to enter and spaces are limited. Contact blueskytheatrearts@gmail.com to register and for further information.
