Black and white themed fundraiser raises £700 for Burnham Hospital

-

More than £700 was raised for Burnham-On-Sea Hospital at a fundraising party on Saturday (March 23rd).

Over 130 people attended the event, organsied by The Friends of Burnham Hospital, at the Oaktree Arena in Edithmead.

The theme of this year’s event was ‘black and white’, as reflected in the guests’ evening atire.

Tony Deahl, Chairman of the Friends, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were delighted with the large number who attended. Their reactions when they left at the end of the evening indicated that all appeared to have enjoyed a really good night out.”

“Our tombola, which had 100 prizes, raised £500 and altogether the evening raised nearly £700. What was even more important to us was the fact that the Friends recruited over 35 new members during the evening showing how local people value and appreciate our local hospital.”

The guests enjoyed a buffet and were entertained by Bristol singer Stephanie Scott. All money raised goes towards making life better for both patients and staff.

Among those attending were James Heappey, the Conservative candidate for the Wells constituency, and his wife Kate, pictured above.
