Burnham-On-Sea Christmas lights winners receive awards

-

The winning entries in Burnham and Highbridge’s annual Christmas lights competition received their awards this week.

A panel of judges from the town council – Cllrs Peter Burridge-Clayton, Pat Burge and Cllr Dennis Davey – toured both towns during December to decide on the best Christmas lighting displays.

And on Monday (January 4th), the winners received their trophies and certificates from Mayor Derick Cooper and the judges, as pictured here.

In the homes category in Burnham, first place was won by 2 Trinity Close (pictured above), while second prize went to 40 Love Lane. The runners-up were 1 Ashcott Place and 17 Rosewood Avenue.

In Highbridge, the top award went to 10 Jasmine Close (pictured below) while second spot was awarded to 30 Fairford Road. The runners-up were 54 Poplar Estate and 27 Clover Way.

The best decorated business premises were Highbridge DIY and, in second place, the Secret World Charity shop in Burnham.

Cllr Burridge-Clayton told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There were a few less displays than last year but the standard was still excellent. There were so many outstanding displays that it made the judging really hard. Clearly, a lot of effort went in by the winners.”
