Seven jobs created at new Burnham-On-Sea Cornish pasty shop

-

A brand new restaurant and take-away specialising in quality Cornish pasties is to to open in Burnham-On-Sea this winter.

The property currently occupied by JJ Welsh’s Tea Rooms in the High Street is to be refurbished and transformed into the Newquay Pasty Shop.

Burnham-On-Sea.com learns seven new jobs will be created with the opening of the store, which is being funded by a consortium of business people.

“We intend to open the Newquay Pasty Shop in Burnham High Street during December,” a spokesman confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“It will sell over 20 varieties of quality pasties, plus other hot food and fresh Italian coffee.”

“This will be a unique business in Burnham that will be good for the town. There will be three new managers and four part-time staff.”

“It will also create more food choice for residents and visitors wanting to eat in Burnham.”

The news comes just days after Burnham-On-Sea.com was first to report that a deal to turn the Welsh’s into a Subway restaurant had fallen through.

Owners Jeff and Jackie Welsh have decided to lease the property to the pasty company instead.

Meanwhile, Subway is looking for other premises in the town. The shop previously occupied by Palmers the butchers is believed to be one of the options being investigated.
