Police make five arrests after mugging incident in Highbridge

Police have arrested five people following an alleged mugging in Highbridge on Thursday evening (June 7th).

Police were called to an area near Willet Close, as pictured, at 8.15pm after a teenager said he had been attacked in Sparks Way.

Police spokeswoman Cath Foster confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com: “An eighteen year-old man was allegedly punched and assaulted then robbed of personal belongings including a watch and mobile phone.”

“Police arrested five people, who included three 18-year-olds, a 17 year-old and a 35 year-old, in connection with the incident.”

Anyone who saw the incident is asked to call Burnham-On-Sea Police on the non-emergency number, 101, or by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
