Two young filmmakers from Burnham-On-Sea whose production was screened at the London Independent Film Festival earlier this week have described the experience as “magical”.
Jessie Hawkes and Jake Hodge travelled to the capital to see their short film, which is called 256 Steps and is set on Brean Down, shown for the first time on a big screen.
Jake told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a very magical moment when we saw our names on the big screen at the screening. It has pushed our motivation and we are already planning our next short film, which is set to target a teenage audience.”
The festival screening was held at London’s ShortWave Cinema and the pair enjoyed mingling with other filmmakers and discussing their next plans.
Jake and Jessie hope to receive further funding to make a full length feature of ‘256 steps’.
They are currently working on several other projects, including documentaries, short films, a music video with an upcoming artist from the South West, as well as filming June’s world record attempt at sandcastle building on Burnham beach.
