Annual Somerset tradition of wassailing to be performed at Burnham event

-

The old Somerset tradition of wassailing, when good health is wished on apple crops for the coming year, is to be performed at an event near Highbridge later this month.

Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club and Rich’s Cider are organising the fundraiser on Saturday January 17th.

The event will include entertainment from The Mangled Wurzels (pictured) and Fred Bloggs in aid of the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment.

To be held at Rich’s Cider in Watchfield, tickets are on sale now at £12.50 each. They will include a plate of stew and a mug of mulled cider. Doors open at 7pm and tickets are available by calling 01278 783651 or 01278 773890.
