Garden centre’s poppy sales raise over £2,000 for British Legion

-

Visitors to Brent Knoll’s Sanders Garden World have recently helped to raise £2,366.98 for the Royal British Legion.

The cash was raised from the sales of the charity’s poppies at the garden centre from October 31st until November 11th.

Peter Burks, General Manager, said: “We are delighted that our customers have helped to raise so much for The Royal British Legion.”

“We have been supporting the charity for eight years and this year the total amount is the most we have ever collected.”

“We’d like to thank all our customers who bought a poppy and helped raise so much cash.”

The money will go towards providing financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served, and are currently serving, in the Armed Forces, and their dependants.

Last year, Sanders handed over £13,000 to the Poppy Appeal from the sales of the charity’s poppies at the garden centre during the previous seven years.
