Burnham fundraiser gives unwanted football kits a new lease of life

-

Dozens of unused football kits have been handed over to a Burnham-On-Sea fundraiser who runs the Somerset wing of an international charity that distributes clothing to poor African youngsters.

Sue Stevens, the Somerset organiser for Educate the Kids, has this week been presented with last season’s unwanted football kits by Wanborough Junior Football Club, based near Swindon.

The kits include jackets, jumpers, shirts, shorts and boots of various sizes.

Lorna Goodwin, who manages and coaches the team, handed over the kit and said: “It is brilliant that the kit can be recycled and be beneficial to children who have so very little in life.”

Sue added: “We are very grateful to Wanborough Wasps for the donation of so much really good football kit, which I know the children in at Jolaurabi School in Kenya will be proud and excited to wear.”
