Burnham Lions boosts town pensioner’s triathlon fundraising

-

A sporty Burnham-On-Sea pensioner received a cheque from Burnham Lions Club on Wednesday evening (July 7th), having completed the town’s triathlon last month.

90 year-old Arthur Gilbert, pictured, has raised almost £1,000 for charity this year by completing two Burnham Triathlons – one in April and another in June.

Burnham Lions Club is one of several groups sponsoring his fundraising for Musgrove Leukaemic Group Somerset and on Wednesday its members handed over £100 to him at the town’s Ritz Social Club, as pictured.

Scott Walsh, Burnham and District Lions Club President, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Arthur is a real legend and so inspirational – we were delighted to sponsor him again this year.”
