Crowds of people turned out to watch the grand switch-on of a Burnham-On-Sea cul-de-sac’s stunning display of Christmas lights on Sunday (December 1st).

The eight Trinity Close homes switched on their display – which frequently appears in the national press – following an evening of festive music from Burnham’s Curtain Call School Of Performing Arts.

The homes have been decorated top-to-bottom with more than 100,000 lights and the display will be open to the public from 4.20pm-10pm each night until January 5th.

Resident and co-organiser Nick Gardner told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s an even bigger display this year with well over 100,000 lights. We had a great turnout of spectators for the switch-on – our biggest ever – and it’s also good to see more displays in neighbouring roads as well, all raising money for our good causes.”

The lights raised over £5,000 last year and this year’s collection will go to PETAL: The Christine Woodberry Memorial Trust, Burnham’s rescue hovercraft charity BARB and the Musgrove Maternity Unit Trust Fund.
