Charity sea dip to be held in Burnham-On-Sea on New Year’s Day

-

A group of brave fundraisers in Burnham-On-Sea will dash into the sea during a sponsored dip on the town’s beach on the first day of 2011.

Two local charities will benefit from the event, which is scheduled to start at 3pm this Saturday (January 1st) next to Burnham’s jetty.

Rescue hovercraft charity BARB and the Severn Sector Coastguard Association will benefit from the sponsored splash.

“This is a unique opportunity to work off the excesses of Christmas and raise money for good causes,” one of the organisers told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“We’ve already had interest from people wanting to take part and welcome further participants and spectators on the day.”
