-

The occupants of this car were fortunate to avoid serious injuries after they slid off an icy road into a ditch near Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday afternoon (February 4th) and an ambulance was also damaged while attending the crash scene.

The driver of the red Citroen Saxo lost control on the A370 in East Brent at 4.30pm following a period of snowfall, featured here.

An ambulance and police officers from Burnham were called to the scene – and, while attending, a separate vehicle also slid into the ambulance, causing minor damage.

Inspector Roger Tolley from Burnham Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The road conditions were dangerous due to adverse weather on Saturday afternoon.”

“The car skidded on the ice into a ditch and, whilst the ambulance crew were at the scene, a car also went into the back of it. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries.”
