Preview: Families head to Highbridge’s annual Apex Park Fun Day

-

Thousands of children and their families are set to descend on Highbridge’s Apex Park today (Wednesday, August 3rd) for a day of fun-filled activities on National Play Day.

The free event runs from 10am-3pm and will include over 35 workshops and activities including a climbing wall, circus skills, rope building, art activities, bouncy castles, man from story mountain, south American stories and crafts, street dancing, willow weaving, face painting, edu pets and more.

“Over 4,000 children attended the Apex Park event last year and the feedback was fantastic so if you are in the area please drop in!” one of the organisers, Rosie Pike, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The day is held as part of a nationwide initiative to encourage thousands of children and young people to get outside and play.

Visitors will also able to see one of Burnham’s two rescue hovercrafts and learn how to play safely on local beaches. Burnham Police will also be in attendance to give advice on how to security mark childrens’ bicycles and other play equipment. And Burnham Fire Brigade will let youngsters clamber onboard one of their fire engines.
