Burnham-On-Sea fire crews were called to a “suspicious” fire in Highbridge on Thursday (September 26th) as armed Police dealt with a drugs investigation in the area.

Crews were called to a building just off Church Street to the west of the Asda car park at around 10.30am.

Police spokesman Wayne Baker told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Armed Police officers were supporting local neighbourhood officers in a drug operation in the area, which was on-going.”

“They then discovered a property which was on fire and were able to support the fire service who extinguished the fire.”
