The work of talented Burnham-On-Sea artist Tim Smith is on display this week at an exhibition in Burnham-On-Sea.

Tim’s work consists mainly of watercolours of townscapes including Bridgwater, as well as Burnham and Highbridge.

Visitors to the exhibition at Sea Breeze art gallery in Victoria Street can also see village scenes and landscapes from across Somerset, plus paintings of animals, flora and fauna.

Tim told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I love to be versatile, but I believe my particular artistic style is largely centred around focusing on beauty that might otherwise be overlooked, looking beyond the obvious. I now paint predominantly in watercolours, but also use other mediums, such as oils, pastels and acrylics.”

“I feel passionate about the local area, my relatives having lived and farmed in the vicinity for generations. I enjoy painting landscapes scenes such as Brent Knoll, the Mendips and the Quantocks, as well as townscapes buildings around Burnham and Highbridge in addition to my birthplace, Bridgwater.”

“An avid photographer, I work both from photos and sketching in situ. I have received various commissions from painting people’s homes, pets or favourite flowers to even a friend’s beloved mini!”

The free entry exhibition, with exhibits available to purchase, runs until Saturday 14th November 2009.

Sea Breeze (01278 783276) is opposite the Ritz Cinema in Victoria Street and its opening hours are 10am until 5.30pm Monday to Friday, except Wednesdays (early closing at 2pm), with Saturday 10am until 5.00pm.
