A group of fundraising motorcyclists has presented a cheque to Burnham-On-Sea’s rescue hovercraft charity BARB this week.

Somerset Motorcycle Group holds regular charity bike runs throughout the year, with each one starting in Highbridge.

During the group’s annual presentation night at Highbridge’s Bristol Bridge Inn, the group’s members handed £422.79 to BARB.

The motorcycle group’s Norman Templeman said the funds had been raised from collections and donations during its bike runs. “We are really pleased to have raised a good sum for this great local charity,” he said.

BARB Chairman Mark Newman thanked the group and said the funds would help towards the costs of operating the charity’s two rescue hovercrafts.
