Successful Burnham-On-Sea beer festival to become annual event

-

More than 750 people visited Burnham-On-Sea’s first Beer Festival, delighting organisers who say it will return again in 2013.

The three-day festival, which was held in the town’s Ritz Social Club over the May Bank Holiday weekend, saw a wide range of real ales on sale, including Stonehenge Brewery’s ‘Danish Dynamite’ and Cheddar Ales’ ‘Totty Pot’ plus a selection of traditional farmhouse ciders.

Organiser Paul Hale told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The weekend was a huge success and I would like to extend my thanks to everyone that turned out to support it.”

“We believe over the course of the weekend we had approximately 750 people pass through the doors with a great turnout on Saturday night when the band Reflex was headlining.”

“We have made a decision that this event will become an annual event and already we are putting in place our plans to make next year bigger and even better.”

He added that the raffle run over the three days of the beer festival raised £168, which has been rounded up to £200 and split between BARB and the RNLI.
