Berrow Conservation Group to host climate-focused flood risk talk this week

-

Berrow Conservation Group will host a public talk on Tuesday 24th March at Berrow Village Hall, when a former Somerset Rivers Authority specialist will discuss how climate change is shaping future flood risk across the county.

The meeting, which starts at 7.30pm, will feature guest speaker John Rowlands, recently retired from the Somerset Rivers Authority, who will outline how rising sea levels, changing rainfall patterns and coastal pressures are affecting Somerset’s flood landscape — and how communities can adapt.

Entry is £2 for members and £5 for visitors, with refreshments available during the evening.

The long‑running conservation group, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in April, currently has around 20 active members and continues to host regular talks, events and local environmental activities.

Organisers say all are welcome to attend the March meeting, which is expected to draw interest from residents keen to understand how climate change may impact the Burnham-On-Sea area in the years ahead.
