Brean fun day this Saturday aims to give Secret World a boost

-

A fun day is set to be held in Brean this weekend to raise funds for local wildlife rescue charity Secret World.

One of the organisation’s volunteer rescue drivers, Maria Dolan, is organising the event to raise funds for the wildlife rescue centre based near Highbridge.

The fun-filled event will take place at the ‘Dickies’ bar at Brean Leisure Park on Saturday 21st June.

The event will start at 12noon and run through to 11pm with a variety of live acts ranging from Irish dancers to local bands along with an auction and raffle.

Newly-appointed community fundraiser for Secret World, Jane Lillis, said: “We are looking forward to the event which we hope visiting holiday makers and local residents will come and support.”

Admission to the fund raising event at Brean Leisure Park is £5 per head for adults, with under 16s free of charge. Tickets can be purchased on the door or prior to the event by contacting Maria on 01278 641048 or via jane@secretworld.org for more information.

Secret World, which recently featured on the BBC’s Springwatch, is currently experiencing high levels of animal admissions with over 228 animals being taken in during the first week of June. May was also a record breaking month.
