Burnham-On-Sea MP James Heappey

Burnham-On-Sea’s MP James Heappey is to hold a public meeting in the town this evening (Thursday, November 29th) when residents will be able to ask him questions about the Prime Minister’s Brexit deal.

Tonight’s open meeting will start at 7pm in Burnham-On-Sea Baptist Church in College Street.

The MP said this week: “The Prime Minister has recently announced the detail of the Withdrawal Agreement and the Political Declaration that sets the heads of terms for our departure from the European Union.”

“It has attracted a great deal of media attention and there are plenty of opinions whizzing around on social media – not all of them have been entirely accurate.”

“I thought therefore that it might be helpful if I offered a series of events in which I can answer as many of your questions as I’m able and so that I can more generally hear your views on the next steps in the Brexit process.”

MPs are scheduled to vote on the deal on Tuesday 11th December after five full days of debate.

A further open meeting is planned on Saturday 1st December at 10am in The Church of St Peter & St Paul in Shepton Mallet, and the MP is holding several live sessions on Facebook.

He adds: “There is no doubt that this coming fortnight is one of the most important for our nation for many decades – please do therefore come and contribute either in the sessions on Facebook or at the public meetings.”
