Burnham-On-Sea BMX club welcomes 168 riders for top regional competition

-

Burnham-On-Sea BMX Club welcomed 168 riders from across the region when it hosted a leading competition at the weekend.

The club, based at Apex Park, held the third round of the Deep South Series which attracted riders and their families from across the south west.

This gave a selection of the Burnham riders a chance to share their track and moves and skills with all riders.

The other riders who didn’t ride all worked hard with parents and grandparent volunteers to ensure the day ran smoothly, representing Burnham and giving all riders a brilliant day’s racing.

Those taking part included riders from Bournemouth, Peckham, Gosport, Andover, Bath, Bristol, Wales, Tiverton and Bideford – all spending the weekend exploring in Burnham, before racing last Sunday.

“We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all local residents and council for their support and the local companies who kindly donated goods for our raffle, which raises important funds that go towards helping us run the club and keeping it to a high standard for all locals to come and enjoy,” said a spokeswoman.

  • If you want to try BMX, then head along to the track on a Tuesday or Thursday evening between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
