Burnham-On-Sea fish bar and motoring shop re-open amid easing to lockdown

-

Several businesses in Burnham-On-Sea are beginning to re-open as the easing of the Coronavirus lockdown makes it possible for them to trade.

The Esplanade Fish Bar on the seafront re-opened on Thursday, with 2-metre social distancing in force on the forecourt outside and inside the premises. A one-way system for customers entering the fish bar is also in place.

The shop’s Lee Bond told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a busy first day back – we had lots of positive comments from customers saying they were pleased we are open again.”

“We have installed social distancing measures, hygienic screens and dividers as well as observing all PPE recommendations so that you can visit with confidence. If you wish to avoid contact all together we are introducing our online “Click and Collect” service to reduce interactions and give you peace of mind.”

Meanwhile, AK Autos in Princess Street has also re-opened this week. The shop’s Andrew Kyprianides told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We have installed a perspex screen for the safety of customers and staff alike and we have limited the depth of entry for safety reasons. We look forward to seeing all of our customers again.”

He adds: “We are currently opening from 9am to 2pm Monday to Saturday and 9.30-12.30pm on Sundays, but if demand warrants it we will return to normal opening hours (8.30am-5.30pm Monday to Saturday, 9.30-12.30pm Sunday) soon.
