Burnham-On-Sea pensioner Edit Eagle 101

Burnham-On-Sea’s Frith House care home has celebrated the 101st birthday of one of their residents.

Edith Eagle, who was born near Manchester in 1918 and was one of seven children – was joined for her 101st birthday celebrations by her daughter, grandson and residents and staff at the Burnham-On-Sea care home.

When asked about the secret to a long life, she replied: “Good food and keeping the mind and body active – that’s what helps you live a long life.”

Edith has acquired many skills over the years and enjoys knitting, dress making and crochet, and has made clothes for herself and her daughter.

Edith is very open-minded and enjoys a variety of music and most foods, including the occasional curry.
