Burnham-On-Sea Swimming Club celebrates success at county competition

-

A group of Burnham-On-Sea Swimming Club members are celebrating after winning medals at a county competition.
The club, who train at Brean Splash, were represented by 15 members at Somerset Amateur Swimming Association’s Development Meet at Hutton Moor last weekend.
The club says that the swimmers competed in 39 events and achieved 32 personal best times.
Also, in 14 events the swimmers achieved 1st, 2nd or 3rd place medals and one club record was also broken.
“This was the first competitive event that swimmers were able to compete in since the Covid pandemic,” says club spokeswoman Kelly Podbury.
“The training was obviously beneficial in the run-up to the meet as these results are outstanding for a small local community club.”
“On top of all these achievements, the swimmers also achieved county qualifying times for the county championships which will be held in January and February 2022 at Millfield School.”
“Well done to all of the swimmers and thank you to all of the volunteers and officials who supported the event to enable the swimmers to swim.”
