A resident in Burnham-On-Sea has begun installing dog poo bag dispensers along footpaths in the town in a bid to encourage pet owners to properly dispose of their waste and stop fouling pavements.

It comes after Burnham-On-Sea.com reported that BOS Dogs Grooming Salon in Victoria Street has installed dog poo bag dispensers in the town centre.

“A public-spirited local person has taken it upon themselves to provide poo bag dispensers in alleys often contaminated by dog faeces,” local footpath user Tony Deahl told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“One is in the alley between Love Lane and St Paul’s Road, a walkway used by St Andrew’s School pupils, and another is on the cemetery railings adjacent to a dog poo bin.”

“This thoughtful local person must be congratulated on their enterprise.”

Last week, Burnham-On-Sea.com reported on anger from residents at dog fouling leaving ‘filthy’ Burnham-On-Sea seafront pavements.
