By-election date announced for vacant Burnham-On-Sea town councillor position

A by-election looks set to be held in July to fill a vacant position on Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Town Council.

Residents in the Burnham South Ward will be able to vote for a new town councillor when the election is held on Thursday 10th July 2025.

The vacancy has arisen after the resignation of Councillor Sue Barber for health reasons in April, as Burnham-On-Sea.com reported here.

Nomination papers for those wishing to stand for the position must be delivered to the Returning Officer at Electoral Services, Bridgwater House, King Square, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 3AR no later than 4pm on Friday 13th June 2025.

Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer, Electoral
Services at the same address. Click here for the nomination pack. If any election is contested, the election will take place on Thursday 10th July.

Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12
midnight on Tuesday 24th June 2025. Applications can be made online here.
