Burnham-On-Sea coffee bar Calm to close and relocate to Bristol

The owners of a popular coffee bar in Burnham-On-Sea town centre have announced that it is to close this weekend and relocate to Bristol.

Calm, an organic coffee bar in Burnham-On-Sea High Street, which was named best cafe in Somerset in 2016, is shutting in Burnham this Saturday.

Calm owner Tiffany Louise Lin told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s been an incredible three-year journey with Calm, opening its doors in Burnham back on August 3rd, 2015.”

“It has been truly amazing to meet so many people over the past three years, and it will be sad to say goodbye to our beautiful customers who made it such a joy to be here. But I have had to make the very difficult decision of relocating to Bristol’s city centre.”

“We are really excited, as we will be embarking on a very creative project that will be heading us towards a new rapidly growing sector.”

Calm’s last day of business in Burnham-On-Sea will be this Saturday, 26th May, with its doors officially closing at 4pm.

She added: “The exciting project we are part of is the spark for future growth, and this can only be obtained at the new location.”

Tiffany, pictured, added: “We will also enjoy access to a larger employee talent pool. Talent for baristas and managerial workers is rich in Bristol and relocation will provide better access for us to build a core set of employees to have cohesiveness, continuity, and the culture we seek.”

“There will also be better proximity to a larger consumer market to drive innovation and also complimentary service offers.”

“Moving is a risk, but one that has been thoroughly researched and planned through – all of which is highly welcomed by our investors.”

“Change is difficult for everyone but I honestly believe we have to take measured risks in order to grow the business and ultimately be successful.”
