Fundraisers across the Burnham-On-Sea area helped to pour thousands of pounds into the BBC’s annual Children In Need coffers on Friday (November 14th).

Staff at Boots the chemists on Burnham High Street wore colourful clothing for the day, as pictured here, and collected over £100 from customers.

Duty Manager Stacey Heathcock, who was dressed in pyjamas and a dressing gown throughout the day, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’ve had a great response from customers. There’s been lots of interest and people have been donating coins throughout the day at Boots here in Burnham and across the country.”

Meanwhile, staff at Sedgemoor District Council raised more than £250 during a series of fundraising events.

There were cake sales, a dress-down day, a sale of books and a ‘best dressed teddy’ competition, which was judged by the Council Chairman Dennis Davey from Burnham-On-Sea.

Linda Krause, the overall winner of the bear competition, is pictured with Cllr Dennis Davey and Kathryn Saunders, organiser of the competition.
