Highbridge Children’s Centre opened its doors to scores of families on Friday (August 20th) when it held its annual summer fun day.

Over 100 children attended the day of activities, which included arts, crafts, face painting, drumming, juggling, a forest school and story telling.

Manager Julian Plested told Burnmham-On-Sea.com: “The day was a great success. One of the highlights was a visit from a wood carver called the Tree Pirate, who created a beautiful chair for us shaped like a fish. He made it from rough chunks of wood using chainsaws, which was safer than it sounds! The chair is now in our garden for all to admire and use.”

“The children really enjoyed this amazing display, together with all the other fun on offer. We are very grateful to the staff and volunteers who put in so much time and hard work to make this day so special.”

More details about the services on offer at Highbridge Children’s Centre, which includes family support, childcare and health, can be found here.
