Cheers! Brent Knoll cider maker celebrates awards success

A Brent Knoll cider maker is celebrating this week after winning two top awards for his traditional drink.

Westcroft Cider has scooped two accolades at the Somerset Cider Championships, held as part of the Mid Somerset Show.

The cider farm won gold in the best sweet cider category and a silver in the dry cider category.

Earlier this year, the cider farm’s Janet’s Jungle Juice won a joint gold award from CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, when it was named Cider Of The Year for the third time since 1997.

Westcroft Cider’s owner, John Harris, pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “I’m chuffed to bits to have won these latest two awards – it’s been a really good year for us.”

“I put the success down to a very good crop of 100 tonnes of fruit last year whic has made the cider better than ever.”
