A new ‘superfast’ coach service linking Burnham-On-Sea to London is being officially launched today (Friday) with the arrival of a coach on the town’s seafront.

Berrys Coaches started the brand new service earlier this month, which takes less than three hours.

A coach is on the seafront next to the jetty through the day to mark the introduction of the service, which it’s hoped will boost visitor numbers to Burnham.

“Passengers can travel from Pier Street in Burnham to Hammersmith in London,” said Berrys Operations Director Ian Daniells. “The journey takes a little under three hours, and all coaches have a host/hostess service.”

“Period returns are as little as £25 and less for children and senior citizens. The service will initially run from Friday through to Monday, and will be expanded as demand grows.”

Burnham’s Tourism Manager Ian Jefferies has welcomed the service, telling Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Berrys have listened to demand from holidaymakers and locals in Burnham. We hope that the new service will encourage more people to visit the town.”

“I hope that people get behind them and support this fabulous service. Tickets can be obtained from BiARS, the Burnham tourist information centre, seven days a week from 10am-4pm.”
