170 motorbikes heading to Burnham-On-Sea seafront today

-

Over 170 motorcyclists will roar into Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday (June 28th) when one of the region’s biggest and longest-running charity motorcycle events heads to the town.

Westland’s Vintage Motorcycle Club will hold its annual Coast to Coast Run from Lyme Regis to Burnham seafront.

Organiser Dick Dampier told Burnham-On-Sea.com that a total of 170 Veteran, Vintage and Post-War classic motorbikes are expected to take part.

They will be welcomed by Burnham’s Mayor Michael Clarke as they arrive on The Esplanade at around 3pm.

Dick said: “We had a really warm welcome when we came to Burnham last year for the first time, with lots of positive interest from local people and the Town Council, so we’re pleased to be returning this Sunday.”

“The bikes will be leaving from Wells at around 2pm and then getting to Burnham at around 3pm before leaving at around 4.15pm.”

“They will have headed into Burnham from Lyme Regis, taking in Wells, Cheddar, Wedmore and Mark along the way.”

The Coast To Coast Run has been running for 27 years and has raised over £70,000 for charity in that time – with Headway Somerset benefiting this year.
