Burnham Town Council Chambers re-open after £46,000 roof repairs

-

A £46,000 project to carry out repairs to the roof of Burnham-On-Sea’s Town Council Chambers has been completed.

Burnham’s Mayor Cllr Martin Cox formally re-opened the chambers in Jaycroft Road this week after three months of building work.

Cllr Dennis Davey, who led the project in his role as Chairman of the council’s Property Committee, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The previous roof had been leaking and not letting enough light into the chamber.”

“We now have a new ‘lantern’ conservatory-style area on the roof which brings natural light into the chamber and the roof has been fully sealed and water-proofed with new tiles. Furthermore, the project come in narrowly under budget.”
