Crime has dropped by a third in Burnham-On-Sea during the first three months of the year, according to new police figures published this week.

Burnham saw a 34% decrease in reported crime from January to March, compared to the same three months in 2013, while Highbridge’s crime report figures have remained largely the same.

From January to March, 2013, a total of 222 crimes were reported in Burnham, compared to only 147 in the same period in 2014.

In that same time the number of crimes reported in Highbridge has been mainly static, from 188 reported in 2013 to 174 in 2014.
