Secret World wildlife carers look after deer from former animal park

-

A deer rescued from a former animal park near Highbridge is being looked after by wildlife carers this week.

Polly the red deer has a new home at Secret World Wildlife Rescue Centre in East Huntspill where she is already making friends with staff and volunteers.

“Polly came from Alstone Wildlife Park near Highbridge which was a tourist attraction and is now closed,” a spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Polly was missing the human interaction at Alstone and has settled into her new home well.”

“As she has lived most of her life alongside an emu he has joined her and both are enjoying the new surroundings.”

Meanwhile, Secret World has recently seen an influx of hedgehogs and the charity still needs cat biscuits and food. Readers who can help should call 01278 783250.
