Royal theme for Burnham-On-Sea Dolls House Group’s annual display

-

A unique annual exhibition showcasing the work of a group of Burnham-On-Sea dolls house makers has opened in the town this week.

A miniature replica of hotel has been created by members of Burnham Dolls House Group and is now on show in the window of Material Needs in Burnham High Street until October 13th.

“The hotel, with its nine rooms, has taken nine of our members almost a year to put together,” the group’s Ann Nicholls, pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“It has a Royal theme this year – we have called the hotel the Prince George after the new heir to the throne because he was born while we were putting the finishing touches to the design.”

She added: “A lot of work goes into creating the display and we’re very grateful to Material Needs for hosting our display once again this year.”

The tiny rooms were designed to a one twelfth scale by the club’s members using a variety of materials and then decorated using acrylic paint and stick-ons.

Burnham Dolls House Group has been running for over seven years and held its first exhibition in 2006. The club is open to newcomers and meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month in Highbridge Community Hall from 7-9pm. All are welcome.
