Big-hearted bikers from across the Burnham-On-Sea area held a fundraising bike run and fun day on Sunday (September 1st) in memory of Dylan Cecil, the four year-old boy who died after falling from the town’s jetty last summer.

100 local motorcyclists took part in the bike run, which started on the town’s seafront and travelled to Chew Valley Lake and back.

Hundreds of pounds were raised for three local charities – BARB, the RNLI and the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

Stands and entertainment were also set up on the grass along the seafront for the fun day, with a bouncy castle, tombola, raffle, auction and craft traders.

The organisers, Phil Hayward and Den Perks, right, said they were pleased with how the event had gone.

Phil told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Big thanks go to everyone who came along to support the event – we had a great day and hope to have raised a good sum for the three charities.”

“I would also like to thank everyone who has supported and helped us over the summer season with our Burnham bike nights every Tuesday, particularly those wo have worked behind the scenes such as my wife, Heather.”

The weekly Tuesday bike nights in Burnham’s Morrisons car park are continuing until September 24th, weather permitting. The bikes arrive at 6pm each week and are on show to the public with money raised going to charity.
