Over a dozen traders will be selling a wide range of locally-grown products when Burnham-On-Sea’s monthly farmers market returns to the town today (Friday, October 31st) with a Halloween theme.

Pumpkins and bonfire night burgers and bangers will be among the produce on sale at the High Street from 9am-1pm.

Other stalls will sell local produce including fruit plus local meat, vegetables, cakes, cheese, pies, bakery items and milk.

Organisers are hoping that as this week is half term and the market coincides with Halloween, plenty of families will attend.

Alistair from the Red Chilli Shop will be bringing along his train and cooking up some hot food using his own chilli sauces.

A new stall, Herby4, will make its debut with a selection of newly pressed apple juices. Only the best west Somerset apples are selected, washed, pressed and gently pasteurised to make a delicious range of juices. There will also be an opportunity to try out their hot spiced apple juice on the day.

“We also have ample opportunities to stock up on bonfire night burgers and bangers from Ellises Farm, Moorland Farm and G M Country Sports,” Market co-ordinator Louise Hall told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “Don’t forget pumpkins and squashes from Portbridge Farm vegetables.”

She added: “It’s time to think about Christmas meat. Moorland Farm are now takings orders for their delicious beef – to avoid disappointment early orders are recommended. See them at the market or ring 01934-733341 for prices and availability.”

“Liberty Cakes UK are continuing to expand their brownie flavours, including the new double caramel!”

“Burnham customers, it seems, are chocolate connoisseurs and you enthusiastically embraced A-Lot-A-Choc who’ll be back on Friday with a range of handmade chocolates to cover all tastes and purses with packs of all sizes – treat yourself!”

There will also be a Burnham Community Stall selling silk poppies for the Field of Remembrance in Manor Gardens.
