Fire crew rescues bird trapped in netting on Community Centre roof

-

Firefighters rescued a bird after it became trapped on the roof of Burnham-On-Sea’s Community Centre on Tuesday (July 2nd).

A Burnham fire crew was called to the centre in Berrow Road at 2pm after the young bird could not be safely reached by RSPCA volunteers.

“The RSPCA contacted Fire Control requesting assistance to rescue a bird that was trapped in netting on the top of the community centre,” said a spokesman.

“It was released by the crew using a triple extension ladder, a roof ladder and safety at height equipment.”

The bird was left in the care of the RSPCA officer in attendance.
