Big crowds expected for Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront fireworks

-

Big crowds of spectators are expected to line Burnham’s seafront on Sunday (November 6th) to watch the town’s annual fireworks display.

Hundreds of spectacular fireworks will be fired from the town’s jetty during a dazzling 20-minute display.

The spectacular starts at 7.30pm and will include several new fireworks not previously seen in Burnham’s display.

“This year’s fireworks will begin at 7.30pm, which is later than previous years because of the tide,” Town Clerk Eileen Shaw told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “We wanted to keep the cost down by not using a scaffolding platform on the jetty.”

Skyburst Illuminations, the company that is running the event on behalf of the Town Council, says the display once again promises to be “breathtaking”.

A programme of classical, and modern music will accompany the display.

The event will be free of charge, but Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club will be collecting donations along the seafront for local charities.

The hugely popular free event, which is often attended by thousands of spectators, is being held on the night before Burnham’s annual carnival, which will start at 7.30pm on Monday November 7th.

The display is being funded by the Town Council with the support of several local businesses, including Home Farm Caravan Park, Newcombe Caravan Park, Burnham-On-Sea Holiday Village, Highbridge Caravan Centre, Sandyglade Caravan Park, Unity Farm Holiday Centre and Dolphin Caravan Park.
