-

Over £6,000 has been handed out to local charities and good causes by Burnham-On-Sea Moose International this week.

The latest lodge meeting saw the funds raised and collected throughout the past year presented to representatives of a selection of designated charities.

The benefiting charities are £3,929.07 to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, plus £1,317.50 to Lady President Pat Burge’s nominated charity Weston Hospice, plus £872 for Governor Jim Dolan’s Cots for Tots. Other local charities also received smaller amounts, including £150 for Burnham Area Youth Centre and £75 for local charity Time for Youth.

National Moose Vice President and Burnham Lodge member Kahlil Kattana, and ladies circle member Maggie Gully presented cheques to Anita Townsend and Colin Thomas of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

Governor Jim Dolan presented cheques to Cots for Tots, accepted on their behalf by son Liam and his partner Jen.

Mrs Sue Harding received the donation on behalf of Weston Hospice from Lady President Pat Burge.
